T-Shirt Con Day #3 - SHERLOCK!

Good morning lovely people! I slept into 8 today. I feel so alive! (even though I'm pretty sure I'm getting a cold)

Today...I am wearing...

SHERLOCK!

It's not the best picture, but it's a black shirt, with a blue scarf, and that little button has John's face on it. Since I don't have an actual Sherlock shirt. (tear). I also have a jacket, which I might wear today if I get cold.

What fandom are you wearing today??

In which mother pulls me from the schooling system

Hello there people of the interweb! I have something to tell you all:

Mom pulled me and my sister from school.

GASP.

Well, not entirely pulled us, we will be going back to the good old fashioned traditional homeschooling. (we were doing online schooling for six years) I can say I am very happy, and yes, I did burn my to do list that I made every school day to all the things I had to do with school.

It was fun.

Let's just say that school was stressful for my family, we didn't have time for other things that we could do. We're all flexible now, not having to worry about tests, and quizzes, and OGT's. (thank God). Learning can be fun again, and I am so excited to get back to the way we used to do things!

We will be taking a two week from from school to figure out school and all that. Since this was a last min., decision. I have so much time now, I don't know what I'm going to do with it all!!

T-Shirt Con Day #1 : Batman!

Good morning! It's Monday, and as you know, I think the world would be better off without Mondays, but today is the first day of T-Shirt Con, so it wasn't so bad!

The fandom I am celebrating today is....

BATMAN!

Here's what I am wearing today! You had to have a fandom t-shirt, and one item that goes with the t-shirt fandom!

So I got my Batman t-shirt, a utility belt and my action figure! (which I figured out you can't exercise in very well...)

Driving School Day #4 & #5

So this weekend was hectic. So after a long night of barn dancing Friday night, I had to get up and go driving school. Which was rescheduled from last week, when it was cancelled because of the snow. So I sat for four hours on a Saturday. But it wasn't too bad, the teacher was really nice and he told some stories, and we didn't really learn anything about driving per say, but...it was still fun. He had us look at pictures with hidden stuff in them, and other things, (no idea why) and one girl kept saying she couldn't see anything and there was one guy who could see everything, and it was pretty funny. (I didn't bother to look very hard, it would have taken me a long time to see anything.)

Here's one of the pictures he had us look at:

Find the tiger!
So after that long day, I got up this morning, and went to church, came home, played a video game, and then went to class AGAIN. Another four hours, but this time it wasn't as bad. It was all on drugs and drinking, so they had us put on beer goggles. (really big goggles that look like you're doing a science experiment) And each of us had to walk on a white line on the floor, and you couldn't even see the line, or where it really was, everything was all hazy and it was awful. As I walked the line, I said that I was never getting drunk for real. It was awful. lol

So that was my long weekend. One more class of driving school next week, when we take the test! Glad it's almost over. haha

Book Review: No One Else Can Have You by Kathleen Hale

Small towns are nothing if not friendly. Friendship, Wisconsin (population: 689 688) is no different. Around here, everyone wears a smile. And no one ever locks their doors. Until, that is, high school sweetheart Ruth Fried is found murdered. Strung up like a scarecrow in the middle of a cornfield.

Unfortunately, Friendship’s police are more adept at looking for lost pets than catching killers. So Ruth’s best friend, Kippy Bushman, armed with only her tenacious Midwestern spirit and Ruth’s secret diary (which Ruth’s mother had asked her to read in order to redact any, you know, sex parts), sets out to find the murderer. But in a quiet town like Friendship—where no one is a suspect—anyone could be the killer.

Genre: YA, contemporary.

Cover Love: very interesting, looks like a sweater. Grabs your attention!

Overview:

Ok. Let me list the good things first: very funny and witty. Like all contemps. are. It made it laugh out loud many times, and not many books can do that. (like...just two) and the writing was good, and fast paced, so it easy to get pulled into the story. I also liked the mystery/murder element too. I love mystery, and I like contemp. a lot too, so it was a good mix! The bad things though...were things that people said, mention of things that don't need to be in there. But otherwise than that, really great read! I'd recommend it to people who didn't mind said things. Kippy is a great MC, I love her, even though she has a few mental problems, which is understandable by her life. I didn't like her way of not sticking up for herself in the right ways, not speaking up when it could help, things like that. And her dad, Dommy, was one of those parents who doesn't know what to do with his child, so that got annoying, but hey, come on, all people make mistakes, even parents. Davey was nice too! I approve. (which he was like...a little younger...kind of too old for Kippy)

Romance:

If there was a word for the romance in this book it would be: messy. Kippy doesn't know what she wants, she's confused, have the town thinks she's insane. Kippy never went over the line per say, but her friend, Ruth did. (and Kippy reads her diary which has...odd things in it) so for romance in this one...I don't recommend this book for people who are bothered by such things.

Language:

Words you shouldn't say, a lot in some parts, not so much in others.

Violence:

Oh boy!!! First off, this is a murder book. Ruth Fried (Freed) was murdered, and how the horrible awful person did it, was horrible and awful, and it's sad to think that there are really crazy people out there. So if you don't like violence, I'd just skip over the parts they start to talk about it. It was awful. (but in the end...everything was alright, the person was caught and YAY) People are getting cut, and getting bruises all kinds of things as well.

Religion:

The Fried's are Jewish, and they  mention their culture and stuff, but nothing choking about it.

Not a bad book. It made me laugh, which is always important, just had some things in it, is all.

Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars!

RP Blog!

Guess what? I got into an RP group! For those who don't know what RP is, it's Role Playing. Where you act as a certain character. In this RP, I'm Tim Drake (Robin) from Young Justice. I am very excited, and I sent in a story, and they approved it, (took over a week) BUT I AM SO EXCITED, BUT I ALSO DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING SO I'M FREAKING OUT.

Here's Tim/Robin:

Happy February 1st!!
