Top Five Friday: Time Periods

Happy Friday!! Today I'm doing my top five favorite time periods. I'm going favorite to least favorite today.

1. The Twenties

Who doesn't like the twenties? I mean really. I love the music from the era, and the clothes and dancing! The Great Gatsby is my favorite book. So all in all, it's awesome.

Bonus gif:

2. The Pioneer Days

This looks like so much fun, travelling from your home and going to build a new home somewhere else! I know it was hard, but it looked like such a great time to bond with your family, and learn new ways to live. I love the Little House books!

3. Medieval Times

Yeah, I know. Times of torture and disease. But let's just think about the awesome sword play, the dresses and the castles! I read a really good Christian books series called: River of Time, and it's time travel back to this era! It was awesome.

4. THE FUTURE

I probably won't live to see anything so awesome as this, but I love all the future istic books out there, and I think the future is going to be flipping awesome.

5. Last...but not least...

THE PRESENT

I love the present I lot, don't get me wrong. And if I ever had a chance to stay in another timeline, I wouldn't do it. I'd stay here with all my family and friends. Sure, the past and future look awesome, but the present is even more awesome.

What's your Top Five Friday?

The Voice Tweeted Me!!!!

GUYS. THIS IS AWESOME. AND I COULDN'T FANGIRL HERE AT MY HOUSE BECAUSE MY FAMILY WOULD BE LIKE WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU. SO I AM WRITING IN ALL CAPS TO TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM.

SO FIRST, I HAD BEEN IGNORING MY PHONE BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE FLOOR AND I WAS WRITING, SO WHEN I FINALLY LEANED DOWN TO GET IT I STARED AT IT, AND THEN I DROPPED IT BACK DOWN ON THE FLOOR AND MY FACE WAS LIKE:

AND THEN I WAS LIKE TO MY SISTER: "OH MY GOSH THE VOICE TWEETED ME" AND SHE WAS LIKE:

BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT IT WAS CRAZY. AND IT'S OK BECAUSE I KIND OF AM AT TIMES, OR ALL THE TIME. WHATEVER.

AND THEN I WENT AND I LOOKED AT THE TWEET, AND LIKE...WELL, I'LL JUST SHOW YOU HOW MANY PEOPLE RT'D AND FAVORITED IT:

SEE THAT!!! 66 FAVORITES AND 15 RT'S. PEOPLE ALL AROUND THE WORLD SAW THAT, OH MY GOSH.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE? I AM THE WORST FAN RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I HAVE NO TV AND I CAN'T WATCH IT, SO I'M PITIFULLY WATCHING THE AUDITIONS ON YOUTUBE.

I KNOW CHRISTINA I KNOW.

I WAITED THREE SEASONS FOR THEM TO FINALLY NOTICE MY TWEETING. I HAVE BEEN A VERY DEDICATED FAN. AND AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

OK, I AM GONE. GOODBYE.

Book Review: Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets abo
ut her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Genre: YA, dystopian

Cover Love: so neat! I love the red shoe and the metal pieces inside the leg.

Overview:

This book was amazing. I recommend it to everyone who likes to read. It's a retelling of Cinderella, but a future, Star Wars, twist on it. Cinder was a great character, brave, scared at times. But she was never scared to stand up for herself. There were many villains in this story, including the step mother, and the Lunars. Prince Kai was awesome, and the android Iko was adorable. I loved the concept of it in the future, with all the tech, and the hovers. It was interesting how even though with all their tech, they can't seem the cure the plague, so it's very interesting as well. I loved this book, and I'm reading the sequel now!

Romance:

Cinder falls for the Prince, even though she's convinced that's not the case. A sub plot in the story is about her falling for the prince, and the only romance is at the end, just one kiss. The romance kept you in suspense, we need more books like this!

Language:

*cue awesome music* NO BAD WORDS. YAY. Cinder says 'stars'. But that's as bad wordy you're going to get.

Violence:

There's a plague, and a lot of sick people around. There are scenes with the sick people, but it's not very stomach turning, but I'm sure if I was really there, it would be. There's a lot of taking blood samples, and the cutting out of ID chips. But that's it.

Religion:

None at all.

Again, this book was fantastic, and I everyone should read it! It's a fun, suspenseful read, with a twinge of romance!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars!

Top Five Friday: Female Kpop Groups!

Happy Friday! I for one am very happy that it is Friday, I gotta tell you. This week was really good though, but I'm ready for watching TV all day and eating all day tomorrow. XD

Going from 5 to 1 today!

5. 2NE1

2NE1 is my friend's favorite kpop group, and I enjoy them too! I like their songs: "I Am the Best", "Fire" and "Don't Stop the Music". They're style is very funky for a kpop group, and sets them apart from the other groups.

4. F(X)

I recently discovered them, and I like their song "Electric Shock" along with "Hot Summer". I also love their name, very mathy.

3. T-ARA

I only really like their one song, but it's a song that I realllly like, and I like it so much, my friend and I are learning the dance together! The song is "Roly Poly", and they're just so adorable!

2. KARA

The first song I heard of KARA's was "Step" and it just makes me so happy! I enjoy another two songs of their's: "Jump" and "Lupin". I'm hoping to learn this dance at some point, too.

1. Girls Generation (SNSD)

And last, but not least! GIRLS GENERATION! They were my first kpop group, and they will always be my favorite! I love all of their songs. There are a lot of them, I know, the only one I can really point out is Tiffany and Sunny, but I just love them, and I hope they come to tour the US again some time soon!

What is your Top Five Friday?

Thunder storms with snow on the ground?!

Happy Thursday! How is everyone? :)

I wanted to share with you my growing LEGO figure collection:

I still don't have any actual LEGO's, but I'm hoping to get some soon! Do you like LEGOs? What are some LEGO stuff you have?

Ok, so thunder storms in February...weird, right? Especially with the snow still on the ground! It's a little strange. It was raining here, but it stopped, the sky is still cloudy. To be honest, I like it better than snow, LET IT RAIN. *does rain dance*

What do you like to do when it's yucky outside? I like to write and play with my many LEGO people. XD Speaking of LEGOs, I cut myself putting together my Batman figure yesterday, my hand slipped and I cut my pointer finger. It still hurts today, and it won't stop bleeding. :P I think that's a cue to cut my nails, don't you think?

I also just finished my first RP with the Nightwing in my RP group! It'll be posted on my RP blog later today, so make sure to go check it out! :D I had so much writing it!

And I printed out this Batman mask from the DC website yesterday, cut it out and I colored it while making dinner. I'm pretty savvy with multitasking.

And I'm wearing glasses because Batman can't be blind when fighting crime.

This post turned out to be more just a random update post, hope you all don't mind!

I FINISHED IT

Happy Monday!

Good news: I just finished Fantasy WIP! Yay!

Bad news: this book will probably never be read by anyone but me, UNLESS someone asks, and I won't edit it, because I'm lazy. And it probably has tons of plot holes, and the MC has problems, and it will never get a sequel because I have no time.

BUT WHO CARES BECAUSE I FINISHED YET ANOTHER BOOK. YAY.

Yes, I'm using this gif again, because it is awesome.

I hope your Monday was equally awesome. Oh, and I got an Emmet and a Wyldstyle from the LEGO Movie: (which made like 50 million dollars over the weekend, BOOM)

LEGO Movie Video

Happy Saturday!!!! I've been surfing the web all morning, and I found a contest, and to enter the contest, you make a LEGO Movie Video!

Some places are just black screen because it wouldn't show all the scenes I put, kind of annoying, but still cool!

Valentine's Day Tribute!

Happy Valentine's Day! For this blog post, I want to dedicate it to my boyfriend, Aaron. Who is really awesome. :D

He's very caring, and he always gives me the best presents. He actually makes me things, like the wooden TARDIS in this picture:

It lights up and everything!! He's also made me flowers out of paper:

And he made me this basket from two Easter's ago. (yes, he made it. By himself, awesome, right?)

And he made me little things that are inside it. Just little things he decided to make out of the blue. :) And he gave me a bracelet that he brought back from DC when he went in the eighth grade. And we shared notes back and forth during eighth grade, and I have a whole drawer full of them. He gave me flowers once for the end of the school year, and a Valentine's balloon from last year. And he made me a heart shaped carrot cake for last VDay.

This Vday, he made me cupcakes in the shape of a heart, and he gave me roses!! <3

I am really blessed to have him as my friend, and my boyfriend. :) <3

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Top Five Friday #3: Superhero Groups

Happy Friday! My Top Five Friday post is all about SUPERHEROES! WHOOP. I'm going to do my favorite to my least favorite.

1. Justice League

These were my first superhero group I was introduced to, and they will always be my favorite! Batman is a personal favorite of mine, so...hehe. I also enjoy Justice League: Unlimited, with all earth's heroes from the DC world!

2. The Avengers

These are my favorite movie heroes! Aside from Spiderman. I loved this movie a lot, and Iron Man is just so amazing, and if I ever get my act together, I will be writing some Avenger fanfiction, you just wait!

3. Young Justice, or "The Team"

I always love side kicks getting the stories they deserve! I also love teens fighting crime. (Robin is a favorite of mine, as you all know) I had hoped YJ would get another season, but they didn't.

4. XMen

I loved this movies, and the cartoons, even though I can't seem to get through the first season, they're so intense. But I love the concept with the genes and all the awesome powers. Wolverine is pretty awesome too, even though he's really angry most of the time, but he's really caring if he wants to! (just watch the movies!)

5. The Fantastic Four

The last, but not least! I loved this movies, and they're stories. And how there's just four of them is really cool! Stan Lee has such a great mine for creating like every superhero known to man!

What's your top five?

Book Review: Allegiant by Veronica Roth

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

Genre: YA, dysopian

Cover Love: so pretty! Love the orange, and the swirling water in the middle!

Overview:

This was the last book in the Divergent series, so I won't be able to say much for those who haven't read the first two books, but, as it was with Hunger Games, I wasn't really impressed as everyone else was. But I loved Divergent, the first book, the best. I love the factions, but this whole series was about trying to break away from them. Insurgent was a great read as well, and Allegiant was too. I loved learning new things about the world, and I'm sad the world is now over. But there are movies coming, so yay! Tris was always annoying to me, and my mom agreed with me on that, having Four's POV in this book didn't help, I'm no good at boy POV's and this author was the same, the only books with good boy POV's are by boy authors. lol. But Four was still an ok character, I liked him better when he was told from Tris's POV, and that was all. I liked the other characters a lot, especially Caleb and Christina! and I'm going to miss all of them! VRoth has a thing where she names all the characters when they only appear once, so I was always confused on who was who most of the time. But all in all still a good read!

Romance:

Tris and Four are together, so there's kissing, and hugging, and all the nonsense about them fighting. There's one scene where they both lose their shirts, but that's it. (totally a skipable part) The whole romance in his book was basically them fighting with each other. lol

Language:

The words didn't start to come out until closer to the end, and none of the main characters said them, only the characters surrounding them said them, so I liked that. Clean to the end those two.

Violence:

There's shooting and guns constantly. Blood, people going into a coma, breaking things. Tris doesn't like to use guns, but she's forced to use them to stay alive. So lots of shooting, and guns the most. Nothing too gross, or graphic.

Religion:

No one in the factions knew about God, not really, so when *SPOILER* They're all outside the factions, and they're wondering why this would all happen, and those things, that's when the God element comes in. No one says anything bad about it, or anything like that. The thought is just there.

This book wasn't bad. The most emotional crippling ending ever. (not so much for me, but I still get upset thinking about it now, *sobs*) so I warn all of you of it, if you ever decide to read this series.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5!

Driving School Day #6 LAST DAY

Good evening!! Guess what? Today was my last day of driving school!

I AM VERY HAPPY. We had a test, and guess what?

I PASSED!

We spent the first half of the class learning about insurance. (so boring) and then we divided up into groups, and we had to plan a "trip" and we only had so much money to spend and all that. My group didn't know what we were doing, and it was horrible, but the teacher's cool and didn't really mind.

The last part of the test, which was only 50 questions. MC, fill in the blank and T/F. It didn't take very long. And only one of us didn't pass!! It was all good.

I hope your Sunday was good! Off to play more of FFXII. I'M FINALLY ON THE THIRD DISC.

-Louisa

Today...I am wearing...

DOWNTON ABBEY!

I have my Free Bates shirt!

And my Downton Abbey poster! It's huge, and has all the Downstairs Staff!

And my Nana JUST gave us season 4!! If the other schools get a snow day tomorrow, we're watching it alllll daaay.

Robin Gadgets!

Last night, I saw a picture of this very thing, and I decided to make them the next day.

All it took was some cardboard, which I got from a leftover pizza box, some got glue, and some paint!

They look like this, but without the red and green dots!

And here they are!

Batman approves!

Yes, he's really holding it. It's a bit big for him, but he doesn't mind!
